I thought all the fighting ended with the ousting of the president last week and the Government was working on a peaceful reorganization?

Until Russian troops invaded. I'm just surprised it took this long.

Can't wait to see what the media does in the event of mass nuclear war.

Ha!
Russian tanks (look like T-90s) though? I thought Democracy was the American gag. What's Russia's?

funny thing is wen I first saw this post, what I saw was "Don't worry Ukraine, the new Kinja experience is coming" due to said banner covering the bottom of the picture. It was actually funnier that way.

It was a scheme, bro.

Never talked with an extreme leftist, have you?

"Don't worry Ukraine, we're Communist and we're in this together."

Modern-day Russia owes more to the dictatorships of Austria, Italy, Portugal and Greece than to the USSR. My point is that extreme leftists tend to act the exact opposite way of extreme conservatives - even when doing so goes against facts.

The issue never was the actual fighting in Ukraine, but the fact that a vast majority of the nations of the world told Russia to stay out and leave them alone, but Russia said "fuck you and your rules, we do what we want!".

Now you've lost me. Extreme political persuasions irrationally acting opposite to each other relates to "Don't worry Ukraine, Democracy is on its way," how?
All I was wondering is what Russia's gag joke is, since America's seems to be "we're going to force-feed you democracy."
It's also been the historical precedent that extreme opposites result in outcomes the same as, not different from, each other. Go all the way around left and you arrive at Stalin. Go all the way around right and you arrive at Hitler. Those are two people standing on the same point, and that point was not big enough for the both of them. I have one extreme leftist friend, and he firmly believes that a dictatorship is necessary to beat people into accepting an altruistic society.

I've seen the women in the long blue jacket in about 10 different photos with Russians now...have her change clothes at least Mr. FSB.

The thing is though that Russia sees Ukraine as its own back yard. Many Russians live in Ukraine. Russians are going in there to protect their own people. It's like USA and Canada. If civil conflict broke out in Canada I would bet Americans would barge in too.

But doesn't the Ukraine Government oppose Russia's involvement? I mean, if the US set up shop in Canada when the Canadian government threatened war against them for doing so, they'd be violating just as many international treaties/laws/agreements if not more.
It's one thing if the Ukraine Government was completely overthrown and the people formed a russia-supporting government, but from what I've been reading (which could also be wrong! So correct me if I am!) the Ukraine government is still very much in power, and strongly opposes Russia's actions, which means that as long as they are recognized as the official government and as long as they have actual international strength (aka, their government supported by the EU and or the UN) then Russia's actions are very much an act of unsolicited war.

The civil conflict that's been going on is basically between 2 groups. One group is pro Russia and the other is anti Russia. The former president that crapped his pants and fled was pro Russia. The new government that was put in charge by the people that are anti Russia are those that oppose Russian involvement.
I am sure Putin doesn't want war in his backyard.
If Canada or Mexico had a civil war I am sure US would get involved.

My (somewhat far-fetched) point was that from some people's point of view, the meme's gag can be correct.

I can see that, yes.
